Program Eligibility
Clubs Essential Training is for student leaders of U of T recognized campus groups on the St. George campus. This includes student societies, course unions and affiliate organizations. University of Toronto Mississauga and University of Toronto Scarborough groups are welcome to attend events, but the focus is on St. George campus.
If you are not currently part of a club or group, we encourage you to register with the Learning to Lead program which is designed for all students.

How The Program Works
Summer 2021 workshops and Club Cafés run in July. Fall/winter 2021-2022 workshops and Club Cafés begin in late September.
Clubs Essential Training workshops fall into three categories:
- Organizational Development and Membership Engagement (ODME)
- Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
- Executive Role Development (ERD)
To receive a Clubs Essential Training certificate and earn CCR recognition, individuals are required to earn 5 points:
- 1 point from Organizational Development and Membership Engagement
- 1 point from Executive Role Development
- 1 point from Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- 2 points from any category of your choosing
To be eligible for 21 Sussex office space, groups are also required to earn 5 points:
- 1 point from Organizational Development and Membership Engagement
- 1 point from Executive Role Development
- 1 point from Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- 2 points from any category of your choosing

Program Registration
Register for Clubs Essential Training workshops on the CLNx under Events & Workshops > Leadership, Mentorship & Clubs.
The SafeTALK: Suicide alertness for everyone workshop has separate registration. You will need to provide proof of attendance to Alexandra Merrick at alexandra.merrick@utoronto.ca to receive points.
SafeTALK training is strongly endorsed by Student Life as a valuable skill for student group leaders. This training will count for 2 green Clubs Essential Training points.
