Mindfulness, yoga & well-being

Our dynamic team of staff and facilitators are excited to bring mindfulness, yoga and wellbeing to faculty, staff and students. Workshops can be arranged by request on a variety of topics for classrooms, staff meetings, lunch and learns and student organizations. See the list of available workshops with descriptions below. Occasionally, custom workshops are possible.

  • Introduction to Mindfulness, Meditation and Yoga Programming (10-15 minutes)

    This short presentation is ideal for faculty or staff looking to introduce their students to self-care programs and strategies to support emotional, physical and social wellbeing. It can be delivered in your classroom, at your staff meeting or other similar settings.

    • Offered by staff or student-staff and based on availability
    • Virtual and in-person options available
    • There is no cost to this workshop

  • Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation: Lesson and Practice Session (45-60 minutes)

    This interactive workshop combines a lesson, practice, group discussion and Q&A. It is a great way to introduce your students to the foundations of the what, how and why of mindfulness meditation.

      • Offered by staff and based on availability
      • Virtual and in-person options available
      • There is no cost to this workshop

  • Yoga, Meditation or Creative Writing De-stresser Events (30-60 minutes)

    Are you hosting a conference, orientation week event, or wellness activity? Then this might be the perfect workshop for you! Our fabulous team of facilitators are happy to bring their passion for wellbeing to your audience. Sessions are beginner-friendly and led by qualified, experienced instructors.

    • Virtual and in-person options available
    • Our facilitators charge $50 for up to one hour of facilitation time. In some circumstances, we can provide a facilitator at no cost for student-run events.

  • What’s My Wellness Recipe? Self-Care for Busy Students (60 minutes)

    Explore your preferences, reflect on your favourite activities, try new things and learn about micro practices that you can work into your busy schedule. This is an interactive workshop so bring your calendar and be ready to talk with other students! Students will learn a model to conceptualize what wellbeing is, and learn about tools to check in on their state of wellbeing.

  • Mindful Eating (15-30 minutes)

    Mindful eating is a simple technique that can be integrated into your daily life as a way to be mindful when time is limited. It is a beautiful practice that connects us to the earth and others through cultivating gratitude.

    If offering this workshop in person, the host will be required to organize some type of food (often a choice of raisins or chocolate) for participants to use. If the workshop is virtual, participants will need to be instructed to have a small amount of food ready to eat during the workshop.

    • Virtual and in-person options available
    • There is no cost to this workshop
    • A minimum of 12 participants is required

  • Mindful Communication (45-60 min)

    Mindful listening and talking are skills that support positive friendships and improve our classroom and group work productivity. When we feel truly heard by someone else, we feel valued and seen. In this way, mindful communication supports care in our community.

    • Offered by staff based on availability
    • Virtual and in-person options available
    • There is no cost to this workshop
    • A minimum of 12 participants is required
