There are 5 types of University Prep programming you can join to prepare for university. Join some or all to support your entry to university learning.
1. FAQs about Learning at U of T
Our team of learning strategists and academic mentors will answer frequently asked questions that students have about learning at U of T. Share any questions you have during your registration and during the session. Staff and current students will share accurate and up to date information. Dates and registration below.
2. University Prep Micro-course
This 4-part micro-course will provide you with the foundations for learning at U of T right before classes begin. Sessions include:
- Exploring your strengths as a learner.
- Activating your critical thinking skills.
- Understanding the science of learning to study more effectively.
- Enhancing academic resourcefulness.
You’ll be able to connect with your peers, current students and learning strategists, and practice the skills you need to succeed. You will also receive a Co-Curricular Record credit if you complete all 4 parts. Dates and registration below.
3. University Prep International Student Q&A
If you’re an international student with questions about the upcoming academic year, join us at an Academic Q&A for International Students. These sessions are o-facilitated by friendly advisors from Academic Success and the Centre for International Experience. Dates and registration below.
4. University Prep Core Skills Workshop
We run multiple workshops every week throughout the year. Over the summer, you’re welcome to get ahead by attending sessions on topics like Reading Effectively, Effective Note Taking and more! These sessions will also be available regularly throughout the year, so be sure to come back to develop your skills throughout your degree! Dates and registration below.
5. Peer Workshops
These sessions are run by current U of T students, who will offer opportunities to practice the skills you’ve learned throughout the University Prep programming, share their experience as university students and answer any questions you might have! Sessions include:
