How The Program Works
You will connect with an upper-year student who is also registered with Accessibility Services, as well as other students joining the program. You’ll also learn to:
- Build effective personal and professional relationships.
- Ask for and receive feedback.
- Set goals for personal growth and learning.
- Reflect on experiences and lessons learned for future application.
- Learn to navigate U of T campus resources and services.
- Develop self-advocacy skills.

Andy is a second year student at U of T St. George for Urban Studies. She is passionate about making communities inclusive and accessible. They also love exploring different communities and experiencing new things. Interesting fact: One interesting aspect of Andy’s life is their love for exploring different parts of Toronto. Andy enjoys seeking out unique and relaxing places to unwind in this diverse and vibrant city. Whether it's a quaint café, a serene park, or an art gallery, Andy finds inspiration in the various facets of Toronto's cultural landscape.

Brenna’s background is in English literature and creative writing. She spent five years living abroad working as an ESL teacher before returning to Canada to study at OISE. Her research interest is primarily in the field of sexual violence prevention and understanding identities of survivorship and victimhood, as well as in philosophies of emotion and how these intertwine. Fun fact: Brenna has a playlist for every occasion, and is an avid hot sauce collector.

Candice Ann is a mature student who came into the university through the Academic Bridging Program. Outside of being a student, Candice Ann is a mom to two boys. Candice Ann admits her journey to university was long and arduous. Candice Ann hopes to help others during their journey at U of T. She claims, at the end of the day, we're all in this together. Interesting fact: Before U of T, Candice Ann went to GBC for Culinary Management, and proclaims herself to be a total foodie! You can also find her having a dance party on the TTC while listening to her Pixel Earbuds.

Crystal is a long-time student at U of T. Her background is in mathematics, statistics and linguistics, but these days, her main focus is on theoretical semantics. Over the years, she has also had the opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant and she has always enjoyed helping students in achieving success in their coursework. Fun fact: Crystal realized she was a proud Torontonian when her American friend shared a debate about why Toronto had ugly architecture and she took great offense.
