Many students are approved for volunteer note-taking as an academic accommodation and we may require your support to recruit a volunteer note-taker.
Please make the following announcement in class and post this request to Quercus. Kindly repeat this announcement until a volunteer is recruited.
“There are one or more students in this class who requires a volunteer note-taker as an accommodation for a disability. By signing up and posting your notes, you can make a significant difference for these students’ capacity to fully participate in this course. To sign up, go to the Note-taking Portal or come in person to Accessibility Services, 455 Spadina Avenue, Suite 400.”
Many students have reported that the quality of their notes improves through volunteering. Volunteer note-takers receive a certificate of recognition.
Confidentiality policy
The note-taking program preserves the confidentiality of both students accessing notes and students volunteering as note-takers. We recognize that you may be able to identify a student in certain situations where you have received only one Letter of Accommodation from a student with a peer note-taking accommodation. We request that you please do not share this student’s information.

If you are willing to provide your lecture notes, please email them to as.notetaking@utoronto.ca and we will make them available to the student. Your support for our work is much appreciated.
