This information is for prospective and incoming first-year undergraduate students in the professional faculties:

Residence is guaranteed for all new full-time students entering their first year of a postsecondary program for the first time, provided that they have indicated their interest in residence by completing the StarRez Portal application by March 31, and receive and accept an offer of admission by June 2.
The StarRez Portal is the tool you will use to apply for on-campus residence.
Step 1
Explore your residence options. Most students who join a professional faculty will be placed in Chestnut Residence. However, some professional faculty students may be placed in the Faculty of Arts & Science college residences or CampusOne Student Residence if space permits.
All professional faculty students can rank up to 10 residences, including:
Note: Most professional faculty students will be placed at the Chestnut residence except for music students who will mostly be placed at Victoria college residence.

Step 2
Enable your JOINid.
Step 3
Log in to the StarRez Portal to confirm your interest in residence by submitting the first-year residence application by March 31. You will be asked to list your residence preferences.
Step 4
Wait to receive a residence placement via email throughout June, July and August.
Step 5
Accept your residence placement by the deadline listed in your placement email. This is when you will be asked to pay your residence deposit. You will be able to indicate residence-specific preferences (e.g. building, room type, meal plan, etc.) if applicable to the residence where you are placed; specific room information will be sent to you by your residence after this.
