We are a very busy health centre providing care to many U of T students. Cancelling an appointment when you are not able to make it means you are freeing up an appointment spot and helping other students who are waiting and can benefit from an earlier appointment.
We understand unforeseen circumstances occasionally arise. We are confident you are doing an amazing job at managing your busy schedule as a student, including your health and your appointments with us.
If you need to cancel an appointment at the Health & Wellness Centre, make sure that you provide enough notice to avoid cancellation fees.
You can cancel an appointment by:
- Appointment reminder (preferred, if you receive it)
- Phone, i.e. call to leave a detailed cancellation message at 416-978-8030, select option 3. Our phone lines are open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (4 p.m. in June, July and August).
Do not email the Health & Wellness Centre to cancel an appointment as our emails are not monitored 24/7.
For 15-minute appointments, you must cancel at least 4 business hours* before your appointment starts. Otherwise, the fee is $40.
For 30-minute and 60-minute appointments with family doctors, medical residents, fellows, dietitians, psychologists, social workers, psychotherapists, or counsellors, as well as group appointments, you must cancel at least 48 business hours before your appointment starts. Otherwise, the fee is $60.
For appointments with psychiatrists and psychiatry residents and psychiatry fellows, you must cancel at least 48 business hours before your appointment. Otherwise, the fee is $100.
For appointments with a nurse, you must cancel at least 4 business hours before your appointment starts. Otherwise, the fee is $30.
*Note: If you have an appointment on a Monday and you wish to cancel it, you must notify us by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday (the week before).
Unpaid invoices resulting from short notice cancellations or a no-show will result in a hold being placed on your ROSI/ACORN student account. This will not impact your course registration; however, it will impact access to your transcripts or for employers to verify graduation.
Students who are assessed to owe fees, and have missed their appointment due to circumstances beyond their control, may be eligible to have these assessed fees waived. Requests for fee reversals must be submitted to Health & Wellness by email within two weeks of the missed appointment.
