The Faculty Advisory Committee advises the Centre for Community Partnerships on faculty programming. It also advocates for community-engaged learning (CEL) at the University of Toronto.
Members of the Faculty Advisory Committee provide feedback to CCP staff on faculty support, programming and the faculty development portfolio. They also provide feedback about their experiences teaching community-engaged learning courses, including benefits, barriers and other related issues, and identify and develop strategies for implementing community-engaged learning more widely at the University of Toronto. This may include:
- building the profile of community-engaged learning
- attracting new faculty and units (departments, colleges, faculties) to the approach
- integrating community-engaged learning into institutional priorities at all levels of the University of Toronto
- identifying, advocating and promoting rewards and incentives for faculty members using this engaged approach
