Career Exploration & Education now has more ways to support students on their career journeys. With the updated Career Start tool and 14 new Career E-Modules, current U of T students and recent alumni can learn and explore at times that work with their schedules.

The Career Start tool has been updated with a fresh interface. Through its interactive design, users can explore career options related to their degree(s), learn about job search strategies, consider opportunities for further education and much more.

The new Career E-Modules focus on resumés, cover letters and how to apply to further education. The 14 micro-modules each take five to 10 minutes to complete and offer students practical ways to enhance their application materials.

“We’re excited to offer these innovative resources to U of T students,” says Atifa Karim, Assistant Director, Career Education. “Both the Career Start tool and the Career E-Modules are available 24/7, making them a great place for students to learn at their own pace. By finding answers to common career questions, U of T students can delve deeper into their interests, define their goals and discover the unique factors that inspire them.”

With activity sheets, videos, toolkits and more, students can begin with the topic that interests them most, then move on to discover more relevant programs, services and resources when they’re ready.

“Whether they’re just beginning to think about their career path or want to build on the knowledge they already have, students will find valuable information to help them on their way,” says Karim. “Combining practical advice with a deeper understanding of the careers that align with their interests, values and goals is a meaningful way to prepare for the future.”
