Residence application dates and deadlines

Applying for residence? Make sure you meet these important dates and deadlines!

January 15, 2025: first-year residence guarantee applications open (admission to U of T/financial or contractual obligations to U of T not required to apply).
March 31, 2025: Deadline to confirm interest in residence by submitting the first-year residence application on the StarRez Portal and maintain the first-year residence guarantee.
June 2, 2025: Deadline to receive and accept an offer of admission (unless an earlier date is stated in an offer of admission) in order to maintain the residence guarantee.
May – August 2025: Residence placements (and deposit requests) start being sent to students with the residence guarantee.
August 23 – September 1, 2025: Fall session residence move-in days begin. The actual date varies at each residence and will be outlined after receiving a residence placement.
December 24, 2025 – January 3, 2026: University closed for winter break. Find details about residence-specific winter break operations.

March 1, 2025 – February 2026: Complete a waitlist application in the StarRez Portal.
September 2025 through January 2026: Residences begin sending residence placements to students on the waitlist. Placements may not be sent until after the start of the school year, depending on availability.
December 24, 2025 – January 3, 2026: University closed for winter break. Find details about residence-specific winter break operations.

January 15, 2025 – December 2025: Complete an application to Graduate House in the StarRez Portal.
June – August 2025: Graduate House and Oak House send offers on a rolling basis.
September 1 – 7, 2025: Fall session residence move-in days begin. The actual date varies at each residence and will be outlined after receiving a residence placement.
December 24, 2025 – January 3, 2026: University closed for winter break. Find details about residence-specific winter break operations.
