This unique program gives you the opportunity to mentor a staff or faculty member and share what it is like to be a student at U of T.
All current part-time and full-time U of T students, faculty and staff (St. George campus) are eligible.
Become a student mentor
As a student mentor, you will gain leadership experience and increase your confidence in multi-generational settings. You have important experiences to share and there is a staff or faculty member who wants to learn about them.
One condition of being accepted into the program is that attendance at program activities are mandatory. Students who have conflicts at these times will need to participate in a different session of the program.
Become a staff and faculty mentee
As a staff or faculty member (the mentee), you will be matched with a student and take part in a mentoring relationship that will allow you to see U of T through the eyes of a student.
This program is for staff and faculty members who wish to have meaningful interactions with the “average” student and empower students to take on active roles in their community.

I loved this program and was so grateful for the opportunity to engage with and have real conversations with my student mentor. I was able to see U of T through the eyes of a student, to hear about some of their challenges and highlights, and to explore places on campus I'd never ventured to before. Highlights were the campus tour, where my mentor took me to all her favourite spots, seeing student performances together at Hart House Theatre, challenging ourselves in a Second City Improv class together, and uncovering the many interests we had in common. All in all, I highly recommend this program to any staff member wanting to form deeper connections with students and to learn more about campus life. Student Life also did a great job of organizing the shared activities.

I'm so grateful I joined this program! It made me felt heard and seen as a student and I'm excited to see how my suggestions are implemented in student programming in the coming years!
