Student Life creates new website for incoming U of T students

June 3, 2025 – Student Life has created a new website for incoming undergraduate students that makes preparing for university life more accessible than ever.

When newly admitted students visit start.studentlife.utoronto.ca, they’ll find Student Life resources, services and events tailored specifically to first-year students on the St. George campus. Using filters on the site, students can further customize their online experience, receiving additional information that speaks to their cultural identity, spirituality, life experiences and much more.

“This new site is innovative because it allows students to tailor their experience to reflect who they are as people,” says David Newman, Executive Director, Student Experience. “By using this site, they’ll understand – before classes even begin – that they are represented in our programming, services, resources and events.”

Laid out in a clear, intuitive and easy-to-navigate design, the new Student Life site is quickly becoming a go-to resource for staff and faculty as well, helping them support students with their transition to university life.

“Staff and faculty now have a comprehensive database of everything incoming students need to know about Student Life before, during and after their arrival in September,” says Newman. “When students have questions, staff can easily direct them to the site or use it themselves to find the information they need.”

With event listings, livestreams, tasks and more, start.studentlife.utoronto.ca is a robust resource for incoming students and the people who support them. Please consider sharing the site in communications with first-year students this summer, using the main URL or linking directly to an event, task or resource details page.
