The ASKme program is returning to the St. George campus, running from August 19 – September 9. Featuring eye-catching orange signs and the friendly faces of upper-year students and recent alumni, the booths will be popping up all over campus to welcome students and share helpful information.
The goal of this successful initiative is to create an inviting atmosphere for new students as they arrive on campus, helping them feel more confident as they navigate their surroundings. Over the last academic year, ASKme volunteers answered thousands of questions, proving that the program is a valuable resource for the entire U of T community.
Staff and faculty can participate by wearing an ASKme button to show that they’re willing to answer questions. Buttons are available at any of the following locations:
- King’s College Rd. & College St., at the campus gates
- St. George St. & Ursula Franklin St.
- St. George St. & Willcocks St., near Sidney Smith Hall
Participants don’t need to have all the answers to be helpful. Here are some general places to refer students:
- map.utoronto.ca (map of buildings on campus)
- uoft.me/registrars (a listing of all registrars)
- tcard.utoronto.ca (info about student ID cards & UTORid)
- uoft.me/navi (for mental health and general campus resources)
Wear your ASKme button from August 19 – September 9. ASKme is a Student Life initiative. For more information, contact Diana Scattolon at diana.scattolon@utoronto.ca.
