Indigenous Tuition Initiative
The University of Toronto has created a new Indigenous Tuition Initiative to foster and strengthen relationships between U of T and Indigenous communities in Ontario, across Canada, and in the United States. This initiative includes three programs:
- The U of T Indigenous Tuition Grant covers the cost of tuition in eligible undergraduate and graduate programs for students from nine communities close to University of Toronto. The nine communities covered by the tuition grant are:
- Alderville First Nation
- Curve Lake First Nation
- Hiawatha First Nation
- Mississauga First Nation
- Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation
- Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation
- Six Nations of the Grand River
- Mohawks of Bay of Quinte First Nation (Tyendinaga Mohawks)
- Nation Huronne-Wendat/Huron-Wendat First Nation
- Indigenous students from the rest of Canada may be eligible for domestic Ontario tuition fee.
- Native American/Alaska Native students from the continental U.S.A. may be eligible for domestic Ontario tuition fee.

UTAPS (University of Toronto Advance Planning for students)
U of T’s largest needs-based funding program. It covers the financial gap between a student’s actual education cost and the costs covered by their Provincial/territorial government student aid. Through UTAPS, U of T provides non-repayable grants to students to help this financial gap or unmet need.

Work Study opportunities
Students can participate in paid opportunities in different areas across campus during each academic term through the Work Study Program. Students typically work 10-15 hours a week.
