- Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering
- Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design
- Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education
- Faculty of Music
The StarRez Portal is the tool you will use to apply for on-campus residence.
The first year residence guarantee: You are eligible for the residence guarantee as long as you are entering your first year of university in an undergraduate program for the first time, complete the University’s common residence application through the StarRez Portal by March 31, and have received and accepted an offer of admission by June 1.
STEP 1
Explore your residence options. Most students who join a professional faculty will be placed in Chestnut Residence. However, some professional faculty students may be placed in the Faculty of Arts & Science college residences, if space permits.
All professional faculty students are eligible for these residences:
- Chestnut Residence
- New College
- St. Michael’s College
- Loretto College (affiliated residence of St. Michael’s College)
- Trinity College
- University College
- Victoria College
Students in the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering and the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design are also eligible for Innis College.

Enable your JOINid/UTORid.
STEP 3
Log in to the StarRez Portal to confirm your interest in residence by submitting the first year residence application by March 31.
STEP 4
Complete all steps and meet all deadlines of your application, as indicated in the StarRez Portal, to maintain your residence guarantee eligibility.
STEP 5
Check the status of your application in the StarRez Portal.
If you prefer more options, independent residence or living off campus might be good alternatives.
