The Mentor Leadership Certificate (MLC) is an optional professional development program for any student at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus, who is working with a student-to-student mentorship program or peer program and wants to further their leadership development.
Prerequisites for this program include:
- Participation in Mentorship Foundations Training (this year or in the past three years) or an approved training. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to request approval.
- Currently working or volunteering in a role where you have a mentorship, advising, coaching or facilitating relationship with other U of T students on a regular basis
How The Program Works
To complete the program:
Attend one workshop or event that satisfies the learning objectives for each of the mentorship competencies:
- Role clarity
- Knowing your resources
- Communication and engagement
- Personal development and wellness
Attend at least one Mentor Café, a mentoring circle with other mentors to support your leadership development.
After completing those requirements, schedule a meeting with the Lead Coordinator, Mentorship and Peer Programs (email@example.com) to discuss your experience and your future leadership development. Note these meetings can only be booked during Winter term.
If you are not receiving our weekly Mentor Leadership Certificate emails promoting upcoming qualifying workshops, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to subscribe.
