Honouring Holocaust Education Week: Understanding Religious Discrimination
January 25, 2022 from 6:30 – 8 p.m.
Wolfond Centre, 36 Harbord Street
This event is an opportunity for religious communities of all backgrounds to unite in honour of Holocaust education week. The program will feature Daniel Pannenton, an expert in combating online hate and religious-based hate crimes, as well as an authority on Holocaust education. The focus of the event is on the importance of Holocaust education, as well as how religious communities can respond and understand the persecution or discrimination they face.
Understanding and Addressing Anti-Semitism
March 22, 2022 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The following workshop will explore the roots of anti-Semitism, its relationship with other interlocking forms of oppression, and how to identify and address it in postsecondary contexts.
- Provide an overview of what anti-Semitism is and its many manifestations, both historical and current.
- Increase understanding of how anti-Semitism relates to other forms of oppression.
- Share strategies and resources to help identify and address anti-Semitism in postsecondary environments.
Beyond the Buzzwords: Understanding Islamophobia
March 24, 2022 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Through this workshop, participants will gain the skills and knowledge to better support the needs of Muslim students and colleagues on campus.
- Unpack personal understandings of Muslim identity.
- Learn about intersectionality and the Muslim identity.
- Develop skills for identifying and intervening on incidents of Islamophobia and anti-Muslim racism.
These workshops are in collaboration with the Anti-Racism and Cultural Diversity Office.
