Each fall Housing, the Family Care Office, University of Toronto Students’ Union and the Varsity Blues come together for U of T’s annual Food & Toy Drive.
Please join our efforts by donating toys and non-perishable food items.
-
Program Eligibility
All U of T students, faculty and staff are invited to make a contribution. -
How The Program Works
In previous years, all proceeds of the drive will be given to the student families registered with the UTSU Food Bank. This year, we are modifying the drive and ask that donations be made to organizations throughout Toronto to support our greater community. In such a difficult year, even a small contribution can make a huge difference in the life of someone living in your neighbourhood. We are grateful for your participation in this year’s drive.
Alternative Donation Options
The Children’s Book Ban: This organization uses their book inventory to run programming to improve literacy for children, teens, and adults, as well as regular distribution to their partners. They are holding regular book donation times throughout October and November.
The New Mom Project: This organization organizes donations that can then be distributed to families free of charge.
Daily Bread Food Bank: This food bank accepts donations for distribution to their members. Donations can be made throughout Toronto at various locations, such as fire stations and some groceries.
Facebook: Toronto & GTA Freecycle and Freeuse: This is a moderated Facebook group where members can give away or trade items for free.
