Winter break housing options

Posted October 28, 2021

The University will be closed from December 22, 2021 to December 31, 2021, inclusive, and will re-open on January 3, 2022.

During this winter break period, some U of T residences will remain open, while others will require residents to vacate their residence building. They may also have unique operational dates that differ from the general University closure dates. Students currently living in a residence that will close for the winter break cannot apply to stay in a different residence during the closure.

Visit the Winter break housing options page for more details.

Students looking for a place to stay during the winter break period may wish to consider temporary off-campus accommodations.

Do you plan on leaving Canada during the winter break?

All students are encouraged, if possible, to avoid international travel right now because it may be difficult to re-enter Canada, as pandemic circumstances change frequently.

If you need to return home, please review travel requirements, as well as your study permit and other immigration documents for the expiry date, before you leave the country.

Visit the COVID-19 information page for U of T Students for more information.
