Are you feeling unsure and uncertain about the academic work that you’re doing? It can be tempting to hire a tutoring company to help you through, but before you do that, remember that there’s lots of help available on campus. Always ask at U of T first! Your professors, TAs, writing centres and librarians are ready to help.

If you’re still thinking about using a tutoring company – please remember these key points.

  • These companies aren’t run by the university.
  • There’s no guarantee of the accuracy of material taught by these companies – check with your Prof or TA if you have questions about the material.
  • A tutor can’t write any part of your assignments. All work must be your own, or you risk being in violation of the Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters.

Visit Academic Integrity at U of T for more information and smart strategies.
