Immigration Workshops & Info Sessions
The Centre for International Experience (CIE) holds regular workshops and information sessions to help you understand your immigration responsibilities:
- study permit, work permit and entry visa workshops (online applications to CIC)
- permanent residency information sessions hosted by Immigration Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) staff members
- USA or France visa information sessions
- post-graduation work permit (PGWP) information sessions
- co-op work permit information sessions
- working in Canada information sessions

How The Program Works
Apply online for your first study permit
The University recommends that international students apply for their study permit as soon as they get their acceptance letter. This workshop will help you with the application process.

Apply online to extend your study permit, work permit or visa
Register for this workshop to learn about the online application process for renewing a study permit, work permit or entry visa.

Permanent residency in Canada
If you’re an international student who is interested in staying in Canada permanently after graduation, register for this workshop to learn about different permanent residency programs. Staff members from Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will provide information about the Express Entry Program.
Post-graduation work permit
If you’re an international student who is interested in staying in Canada to work after graduation, you may be eligible for a work permit valid for up to three years. Register for this workshop to learn about the post-graduation work permit (PGWP).
