The Centre for Community Partnerships (CCP) hosts a variety of faculty programs and events that bring together instructors who teach, or are interested in teaching, community-engaged learning (CEL) courses. In partnership with the Centre for Research and Innovation Support (CRIS), the CCP also offers programs and events for faculty involved in community-engaged research (CER).

Community-Engaged Research Faculty Discussion Club

This series, in collaboration with the Centre for Research and Innovation Support, is for faculty with an interest in deepening their understanding and practice of community-engaged research (CER). Participants will have the opportunity to connect with, and learn together from, colleagues and their community partners. Sessions will highlight both theoretical and practical considerations from a variety of perspectives with an aim to strengthen our collaborative approaches to research.

Sustaining & Growing the Relationship in Community-Engaged Research: Opportunities & Pitfalls

The fourth session in this series will focus on how to sustain and grow the research relationship over the course of the community-engaged research initiative, and beyond. Using case studies from their own practice, guest panelists will share their reflections and lessons learned on the opportunities sustain and grow the research relationship over the project lifecycle and into new phases, as well as highlight potential pitfalls to be aware of. Guest panelists will offer their reflections on promoting partner participation over time, balancing different demands on academic and non-academic partners, continuing to foster trust and mutual respect as projects close and, identifying opportunities for future collaborations.

Community Engaged Learning Course Development Workshop

CEL Course Development Workshop 3: Respectful and Reciprocal Community Partner Stewardship

In this third workshop of the CEL course development workshop series, we focus on working respectfully and equitably with partners from community, grassroots, nonprofit, or public organizations. The workshop will provide practical strategies for, and space and time to discuss and reflect on, stewarding partnerships in respectful and reciprocal ways.
 
Note: These will be participatory workshops where attendees will be invited to do some free-writing and some breakout group discussions.
