Student Life on the St. George campus is looking for students who are actively involved at U of T and have the social media chops to help build community and encourage students to get engaged. We’re looking for students to join our Student Life Community Crew. Members of the Crew will be profiled in the 2016 “Start @ U of T” publication for incoming first-year students, and will be featured in a set of welcome videos. Crew members will work from June 2016 to April 2017 or September 2016 to April 2017 depending on the position.

Photography Blogger/Community Builder

You are a crack photographer who also wants to let students know all the amazing things U of T has to offer. You like to take a lot of pictures and you like to share them with the world. But you are also the essence of discretion and are sensitive to issues such as privacy and online safety.  You will create a weekly photo blog entry for the Life @ U of T blog and maintain our Instagram account. You will also contribute to the Life @ U of T Facebook and Twitter accounts and help develop and implement social media campaigns.

You are:
Great at taking and sharing photos.
Curious – you show a real need to find out what’s going on across the campus and document it using photos.
Creative – you don’t look at things the way most people do, and you love to tell stories using photography.
Eager to try new things and participate events and activities organized by your fellow students.
Social media savvy, with experience on multiple platforms, especially Instagram.
Active in the U of T community.
Eager to share your knowledge and help first-year students transition to life at U of T.
A student on the St. George Campus for the 2016-17 academic year.
You must have your own mobile device/camera capable of supporting Instagram.

Captain

As Team Captain, you are responsible for leading, motivating and inspiring the team, coordinating schedules and managing our social media content through our Facebook page and Twitter account. You oversee the development and execution of social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the blog, and ensure that all platforms are working together to communicate with your fellow students.

You are:
Someone with demonstrated leadership ability.
Curious – you show a real need to find out what’s going on across the campus.
Creative – you don’t look at things the way most people do, and you find new and innovative ways to share your story.
Eager to try new things and participate events and activities organized by your fellow students.
Really experienced in social media, ideally with Facebook pages and on Twitter.

Someone with exceptional organizational, logistical and administrative abilities.
A student on the St. George campus for the 2016-17 academic year.
Previous experience with the Life @ U of T blog is an asset.

Videographer

Working as part of the Student Life Community Crew, the Video team will develop short videos on various aspects of student life at the University of Toronto St.George campus. Videographers will plan, script, storyboard, shot edit and caption short videos to be featured on the Life @ U of T YouTube channel, Blog, Facebook and Twitter.

Typical Duties:
Develop ideas for short videos depicting student life at U of T
Produce a variety of video projects working from project briefs, scripts and shot lists
Video interviews and b-roll for a variety of projects as needed
Edit rough cuts and story cuts for projects using Adobe Premiere CC and After Effects
Research and script segments on current campus events and campaigns
Attend weekly crew meetings
Contribute to the Life @ U of T Facebook and Twitter accounts and help develop and implement social media campaigns.

A current student on the St. George campus that will be returning for the 2016-17 academic year taking at least 2.0 full credits from September 2016-April 2017.
