Helping Students Hear Themselves Registration:

Tuesday November 16th, 11:00 – 12:30 pm, Koffler Student Services Building, 214 College St, Room 313
Facilitated by U of T’s Poet-in-Community, Ronna Bloom
Space is limited so please register early!

How can we help students begin to understand what they are thinking, feeling, and wanting, and give them a better chance to act on it? What could a poem do –written or heard - that direct speech can’t? Sign up to find out how writing and poetry are helpful for academic excellence, leadership capacity, and choosing anything from a partner to a car to a menu item.

This 1.5 hour workshop includes a brief talk about some of the uses of writing, as well as exercises based on writings of Raymond Carver, Neko Case and others. If nothing else, take a spin writing for your own exploration and see what happens.

A workshop brought to you by the Leadership Educators and Resource Network (LEARN) and the Poet-in-Community at U of T.
